The plus side to moving into a home with a few extra bedrooms (and no children yet) is that you can create a personal room or two, which is what Trevor and I did in our first home.
He has his office on the main floor, and I have mine on the second floor. Both are considered bedrooms, as they have closets, and both can be changed back eventually if we expand the family or sell.
For now — he has his man cave, and I have my girl cave :).
Except he’s a little ahead of the game on his room. I’m usually spending my monthly “fun-money” on clothes and shoes, and he’s been using his towards updates…
Game on partner.
Sharing bits from our home offices as they are now — a little over 1 year following our move in. I’ll be sharing the transformation of my office that should be completed by next month and both finished products :).

His Office
Trevor’s office is everything he ever wanted. When we were searching for our home, he was so funny. “I want a wall of books with a moving ladder, just like Pagemaster”, he said. Sure enough, he made the most of what he had and now has his wall (sans ladder for now, haha).
In addition, he handmade his own desk which set the tone for the room and its “steampunk” vibe. Being the meticulous person he is, it ended up perfect — proud wife!
Leather chairs, scotch on scotch, a watch collection and decor from the seas — the man never needs to leave his office, and rarely does ;). #happyhubs

Her Office
Naturally Smalls hangs out in mine more ;). No, but really, he acts as my protector guarding the entry of my girl-cave and I melt every time.
I too, am obsessed with my room. I never want to leave. It has lots of light and some of my favorite things — shoes on shoes (husband to thank for the amazing display!), fashion inspo, Apple products, chartreuse and touches of gold. It’s where the blog began and the ongoing magic happens.
Being inspired daily is extremely important to me, which is why having a room that sparks creativity and positive vibes is ????. I’m so glad we are both able to enjoy our rooms the way we intended. #happywife
Over the next month I’ll be painting and bringing in a few extra pieces that I can’t wait to show you. Stay tuned!

Thank you Marah! I’m so glad you enjoyed! Looking forward to getting your awesome blog updates to my email in the future 🙂 xo
Cortney! I’m super impressed with your editing style and photography, and I can see you’re putting the 50mm to excellent use. However, when it comes to the battle of the offices I’m on #teamtrevor. The steampunk design and sea decor just speak to me.
Thanks for the positive yet honest feedback 😉 Trevor is thrilled! hehe
