2018 is proving to be the busiest year of travel yet.

From surprise family engagements and best friend bachelorettes to weekend getaways and a couple of European adventures for the hubs and I… it’s kinda bananas.

I’m in no way complaining — I’ve always strived to incorporate more and more travel into my life. Experiences away from home have shaped who I am and I feel so fortunate to be at a place where both Trevor and I can incorporate these experiences into our lives.

But, the downsides to this whole “husband-and-wife-on-the-go” thing are having to leave Smalls… over and over and over + the hassle of packing and unpacking… over and over and over.

Traveling with a Dog at Home — Tips and Tricks

It’s not that we shouldn’t travel because we have a little fur-child at home, but it is important to us that we make sure his happiness and health are top of mind when we do.

Like making sure he’s being watched by someone he knows and loves. We’re lucky enough to have family nearby so at the drop of a hat when we need to head to the airport, Smalls is able to join his fur-cousins for a weekend of fun.

What’s also helped ease the blow of knowing our little guy is mad at us for leaving him again is bringing back a little something each time. Whether it’s a stuffed animal from the city we traveled to or a plastic bottle cap from a bottle of water on the plane — he now looks forward to us leaving with a suitcase because he knows he’ll be getting something as soon as we return (at least we like to think so)…

… and in return we get to enjoy life and worry less.

Traveling with a Laptop — New Fave Travel Accessory

Speaking of enjoying life and worrying less… there’s a new travel accessory I’m excited to share.

I’m always looking for new accessories to add to my travel bag and overall attire, but specifically I had been looking for a laptop case to travel with for some time. For as long as I can remember, I have literally been putting my naked MacBook Pro into a shoe bag and then into my Longchamp travel tote. Though this proved to work — it felt incredibly disheveled.

Which is why I was uber excited to learn about the California brand sight.

Sight was created in 2013 with the intention of helping women-on-the-go go about their lives without having to worry about the little things. Their thoughtful features incorporated into every one of their designs proves this.

Their vegan leather laptop cases not only are beautifully designed, but they slide onto your suitcase handle — making the transporting of your beloved laptop sooo easy!

To go along with my mostly monochromatic wardrobe, I opted for the marigold and black. I’m loving the bold color and am even more so loving the extra space in my travel tote!
