It’s the 7th of the month which means another round of STYLELOGUE is here for your trend seeking enjoyment! Can you believe this is our seventh edition?! I definitely cannot. But what I can believe is that we are getting more and more into a groove. With each other, with our amazing photographer and the content we want to share.
This month’s trend story focuses on a very relevant color scheme you’ve been seeing make way into retailers from the runways and streets last fall. A palette that’s immensely eye-catching, mirrors highlighters and screams 90’s retro. Ladies and gals — E, M and I bring you May’s Stylelogue Trend : Ultra Brights.
psst… be sure to read ahead to the bottom of this post for an exclusive invite to join us in rocking this trend next week!

When it came to selecting this month’s trend, we wanted something that truly stood out as we transition to the warmer weather. I hate saying it, but we needed an excuse to put aside our wintery blacks and greys and make room for something inspiring and fresh. Neon was the obvious choice and as you can see we’ve achieved the requirement of standing out. As we shot these looks on Capitol Hill, we turned heads and could spot each other a mile away. Yeah dude… where’s the closest rave?!
Being an 80’s baby, I definitely had my fair share of ultra bright items to wear in my little lady closet. Who remembers the t-shirts that turned color when you got them wet? Yup, definitely had those in every neon color.
The three of us had our own individual nostalgic moments as we strutted the streets in our vibrant looks. Rocking head-to-toe hot pink, bright orange and acid green. A true testament to the fun fact that fashion repeats itself — and what’s new, will become old and then new again.
Since we’re on the topic of nostalgia, pink was hands down my favorite color as a little Cortney, believe it or not. I’d throw a tantrum if I were caught dead in anything non-girly. Wonder if that’s the reason why I’m drawn to monochromatic looks so much now ????.
Anyways, after learning what Elisa and Mary had pulled, I decided what better color to complement than hot pink! Lucky for me, Topshop was the brand of choice with the perfect assortment of ultra bright options to choose from.
This satin midi skirt was where I began. It would work well with bump — as I went up two sizes, had a little hint of black — which kept me at ease 😉 and could be styled in a number of casual to dressy ways. #versatility
To stay comfortable, I opted for a cozy crewneck sweatshirt in the same ultra bright pink hue. I knew white accessories would play well with the scheme, so I threw on my favorite strappy heeled sandals and extra white cat eye sunnies.
The icing on the cake was a show-stopping marble Zara bag that tied in the pink and offered blue and green colors in the ultra brights category. I also caved on the white beaded barrette obsession. I don’t normally like putting things in my hair but I loved how this hair clip and hair pin added to the overall look.

In true form, Elisa brings a look that shouts *extra*. She rocks daytime sequins in an elegant, yet on trend long sleeve dress with the perfect color combo of bright orange and acid green. Swooning over the plaid pattern too. I love how she added even more color with a bright yellow heeled sandal, and made the look pop with an all white and clear statement bag. She’s totally ready for some dancing at an evening event.

Mary brings it this month with the hottest and brightest of them all — this elongated tailored blazer is a show stoppa, peeps! I think we were all surprised with how sassy it looked in person. Her cute, fit body does wonders in her biker shorts and black top combo — allowing the jacket to truly pop. Loving her classically feminine accessories of both satin and beaded.
