As I try to come up with the right words to put into this intro, all I can think is wow… two years of creating with these two… how much has changed since we began. Our creative director/fellow musketeer Elisa has had one major year and an even more major week. After 11 years of working in corporate retail, she’s gone on to fulfill a dream of becoming a designer of her own label. This very special Stylelogue edition is dedicated to this major accomplishment.
This October, we’d like to introduce you to SSKEIN via the latest trend story : SSEKIN Sustainable Knitwear.

SSKEIN. Let’s break this down a bit, shall we…?
First of all, how do you even pronounce it? Well, the “a” is long like the “a” “fame” — \ skān \ and a skein is a length of thread or yarn, loosely coiled and knotted.
How did this all come about? Elisa comes from over 20 years experience in knitwear design. She’s done it all, she’s seen it all (and quite frankly can design knits in her sleep). 2020 made an impact on her life, as it has for many of us, to the point where she decided it was time to pursue the lifelong goal of launching her own line. But not just any line, one on her own terms. For the modern woman. Who gives a damn about quality, sustainability and filling her closet with timeless pieces meant to last.
Thus, SSKEIN was born over the summer just in time for launch this Fall. It’s a capsule collection made up of everyday essentials with our environment kept in mind. A low impact manufacturing footprint with a made to order model. Quality construction to extend the life of the product. We’re talking natural Baby Alpaca fibers sourced from Peru.
The collection is made up of four essential elevated basics — a crewneck, bodysuit, cardigan and jumpsuit. Pieces you can easily pulse into your existing wardrobe and style in comfort at home or with statement pieces out someday (hopefully) soon. The color palette is comprised of neutral perfection — black and the finest shades of oatmeal mixed with a dash of muted rust and deep emerald green. Fall deliciousness.
When it came to selecting what we’d like to style, I was drawn immediately to the bodysuit. It has all of my favorite features in a piece : exposed arms, a high neck and ribbed texture. I’ve been leaning into more fitted tops like bodysuits as a new mom as I’m damn proud of the ride my body has gone through to produce a baby. I may not be as toned as I used to be, but I feel fit and I feel good and I want to show it off. The T-Neck Bodysuit allows that. Black and oatmeal are musts in my eyes.
Then the cardi — it’s versatility is what speaks to me most. You’ll have this piece for life. The way it drapes, the shawl that collapses when you want it to. The thickness, weight and drapiness. The way you can wear it over tees, tanks, dresses, leggings. This is the piece I truly see myself wearing around the house and when I leave. Grabbing it like a coat to go. She did a damn good job with this Shawl Neck Long Cardigan and if I was to give the best gift to my female friends/family, it would be this. Again, I’m feeling oatmeal and black, but my god is the vicuna color GOOD.
Popping in my pieces — these cropped faux leather Levi’s are a must grab for fall. Quality brand, classic fit. Size down. Then throw in my fave new accessory by Senreve, a wool hat and these angled heel booties. You’re good for fall it in all, girl.

E adds color and sexiness in every look and she did it yet again here. The crewneck pullover is her fave piece (as said on her IG live). I love how she styled it with faux leather shorts and the layers on layers with her cardi and beanie.

Always on-trend, always doing it effortlessly. M does this month’s story with so much swag. Her nude color palette plays off the SSKEIN oatmeal / dark oatmeal pieces. Her added belt, boots and oversized blazer do the damn thing so well. And that clavicle though…

Like I said in the intro — what a ride it’s been. I can’t express how proud I am to be a part of this crew and to have had the opportunity to have this powerhouse in my life. Elisa, congratulations. Here’s to SSKEIN and your dedication to creating.
So friends, it’s your turn. Let’s get the word out about SSKEIN. Please share the love and collection. Shop it for your friends and family — with an arrival just in time for Christmas. And as always, use the hashtag — #seattlestylelogue — in all of your shares.
Let’s be conscious about what we wear and the brands we support, friends.
