I never thought I’d live so close to water — at least that’s what Midwest Cortney thought before moving out to the Pacific Northwest. Now that I’m on my eighth year in Seattle, I can’t even fathom living anywhere else. Grey skies, open sea, cool breeze. It just feels right.

Once I decided to put my stake in the ground here — meeting Trevor, calling Seattle home — I realized I had to play the part, building a wardrobe that allowed for boat days and weekend getaways to the islands. Sperrys, nautical blues and whites, stripes, chambray… over time have accumulated in my closet.

Which leads to the outfit…

IMO, flaunting the nautical look can be done anytime of year, especially living near the water. So when I found this striped top with detailed sleeves at the Zara Winter Sale, I knew it had to be mine. Especially considering I had one from The Frankie Shop in my cart that was triple the cost. The perfect top for my new fave pair of jeans I came across also ON SALE from Bloomingdales last month – the crop fringe by 3×1. SO fun. Get them now and you’ll be able to wear them this Spring and Summer.

Nude pumps will never go out of style. I’m rocking an old pair by Enzo Angiolini but am in the market for a new, good quality staple. I’ve dropped in a few options below and highly suggest you check out the Jimmy Choo’s on sale for under $300!

Lastly the accessories. I’m really not the best in this category, as to me, less is more. With this outfit, I’m rocking a simple gold watch – an adored, classic Fendi my husband got me last Christmas – and this beautiful crescent pendant my mother-in-law gifted me on my birthday this year. Both simple and delicate. Add the Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses I scored at the rack along with zippered Rebecca Minkoff crossover and I’m ready for a night on the town — or the ferry :).
