I honestly didn’t know if I could do it.

First came the simple slide on sandal. Then came the loafer. And the two-inch block heel mule. I thought to myself – wow, that would never look good on me. How mom-like (sorry moms, I’ll soon be one too).

But comfort people — you have to have it. And hell, you can make comfortable look sexy AND cool.

As I’ve been working to refresh my wardrobe for Spring, I wanted to share my fave picks for slides in each of the three groups you’re going to want to invest in:

The Flat Slide

Slip them on, slip them off. Show your toes and stroll with ease. The flat slides are the new thong flip-flop. Update your Spring style with a new pair or two.

The Loafer

Inspired by the men in our lives, but updated for the warm weather. Let your heels breathe and dress up your workweek attire with a sophisticated loafer. Come the weekend, time for casual.

The Block Heel Slide

And when you want to add some lift but still need to get around by foot – go for the block heel slide. Comfortable, sturdy and the right amount of calf pop.

Pro tip: if you’re debating where to start with the slides, start with a nude or black flat sandal. You’ll be able to pair it with countless outfits this Spring and it’ll be a warm up for Summer where you can get more adventurous with colors and textures. Just as I recently did with these Topshop yellow slides!
