With Spring only a few sleeps away, it’s time to start thinking about how to transition your wardrobe out of those greys and blacks into something fresh and vibrant.
As someone who defaults to basics and neutrals, I love switching it up a bit and throwing in a little edge and color here and there. Which is why I’m really feeling one of the dominating fashion trends this year —
Color-blocking.
How to Color-block
Sure color-blocking has resurfaced as a new trend throughout the decades, but this year the trick is to go for bold hues.
And more specifically, hues within the three main primary color groups — blue, red and yellow (at least according to Calvin Klein, Marni and Oscar de la Renta). By keeping within this limited grouping of colors, you’re able to create graphic combinations. Think Tetris blocking, peeps.
#ProTip : the more saturated the shade, the better.
Longsleeve dresses are my absolute favorite type of dress — and oh so perfect for the transition into Spring. Go for one in a midi-length for an element of sophistication and subtle sweetness.
Bright Mules
Mules are oh so good (and comfortable) for Spring. Keep it classy in bright white and keep it casual but elevated with a pointed toe.
Geometric Crossbody
This it bag is oh so hot right now. The perfect sized camera bag for your phone, makeup, cards and keys and a look that is guaranteed to turn heads. Wear it as a crossbody, over your shoulder or as a clutch. And the colors are endless… go crazy with it.
So there you have it. Your perfect transitional outfit into Spring.
