Elevated Basics — a concept I’ve been talking about for years. When I first came across the idea, it stuck with me — and if I’m being honest, has changed my life. I shop less, don’t stress about what to wear and rid of my debt…. but that’s another story for another time.

If you’ve come here from TikTok — hello! I’m so glad my videos are resonating with you. I was pleasantly surprised when this video completely took off, and now I’m here giving the people what they want :: more inspo on how to curate a wardrobe full of elevated basics.

So what exactly are elevated basics? In my eyes, I deem these as the key staples in your wardrobe that add value to your closet. They allow you to mix and match without worry and bring longevity… to align with living more sustainably and with less.

The criteria I like to look for with these basics are:

• versatility: the basic can be styled in various ways — allowing you longer-term use. think a ribbed tank or the perfect white shirt for layering.
• quality: the basic can last season to season — providing more bang for your buck. think high percentages of cotton and eco-friendly fabrics like tencel and lyocell.
• edge: the basic has a slight twist — making it fresh, on-trend and relevant. think a blazer that’s oversized or pants that are cinched.⁣⁣⁣
