Hello July! Wow it’s been some time since I published a new outfit edit for you all so playing some major catch up this week. Today I wanted to share an update on my No Buy June + July Challenge, while sharing a new summer striped look that I pulled together thanks to Rent the Runway’s Unlimited Service featuring this Tibi dress.

No Buy June and July Update //

So I did it guys — month one of two success! I stuck to my promise of not buying anything for myself. This includes clothes, accessories, shoes, bags, beauty products… nodda. I stuck to my $75 per week cash/debit budget to be used on items like coffee/lunch dates and personal care needs like a haircut and shellac removal.

So how does it feel? It’s liberating to say the least. As I mentioned being a style blogger, I’ve felt the need to buy new things constantly in order to create. However, I’ve proven this doesn’t have to be the case. I’ve reworn pieces in my closet — allowing me to create new looks. I’ve leveraged brand partnerships for gifting opportunities — which has enabled me to perfect my pitch. And I’ve borrowed through Rent the Runway’s Unlimited Program — which I loved using for a month!

I will say, the caveat to this has been our baby on the way. First off — I’m not my normal figure, so of course buying new items isn’t as appealing anyways due to my super hot bod. Second — I’ve been buying for him and all the preparation. Trevor and I left a lot of things to be purchased to these final months and as the key ‘purchaser’ I’ve still been in the hot seat of buying. This will likely considerably change over this next month, I assumem, as our time will be completely consumed by the little man. But just to be transparent — this was not a zero buying month.

As I continue on this next month of “no buy” for myself — I hope to learn and grow from the experience and reassess my outlook on what it is I actually “need” vs “want”. I also hope I can inspire you to do the same.

Breaking Down the Edit //

Now let’s talk outfit, shall we? I am soo in love with this striped halter midi dress from one of my favorite designers, Tibi. Using Rent the Runway’s Unlimited Service for the majority of June allowed me to try on some gorgeous dresses that worked well with bump and provided some fresh new looks to share with you all.

This striped number is so perfect for any summer occasion — whether an evening out on the town or a weekend soiree. Sporting stripes in the summertime just feels right to me. It can be a simple tee, a loose button down shirt, or a flirty dress like this.

When it came to accessories, I had to pair it with my favorite white go tos — because I eat, sleep, breathe white in the summer months. This geometric structured bag is my go to for an elevated, polished look (similar colorway here). In addition, I’ve gotten so much use out of these $35 Zara sandals (similar here and here). Topping off with a little texture — beaded earrings and tortoise shell sunnies.
