Why though? I thought as I walked into H&M last weekend only to find myself gravitating towards this bright colored beautiful jacket so perfectly hung on the rack.
The color… it’s just so captivating…
I admit. I hadn’t been into H&M for awhile. The downtown location I normally would pop into was normally packed with people and the product a little all over the place.
But when I stumbled into the University Village location, I started freaking. Product perfectly displayed and organized, and the freshest selection of Winter to Spring transitionals.
Though I talk about monochrome all the time, I do love introducing a pop and color here and there to really make an outfit pop.
When I had these two pieces in my hand during my crazy awesome visit to H&M, I started envisioning this exact outfit — and what pieces I’d add to make a head-turning look.
Here’s how to do it…
The Trench
I obviously went for the emerald color, but my goodness the trench options at H&M right now are fab. Great quality, chic and effortless and a damn good price.
The Pleated Skirt
The black and white option I’m wearing unfortunately isn’t available anymore, but the orange is the same high/low cut and pleated style. I dropped some other faves here that will go with the trench options above and are guaranteed fun when twirling.
The Circle Crossbody
Get on trend with the perfect shape and sized crossbody. I found this one at a local boutique in Seattle (read about the find here), but there are so many goodies out right now.
The Bootie
The metallic silver I’m wearing is on sale and you cannot beat this price. In addition, the pop of pizazz really makes the outfit. Pop with white or black too — either are crazy good options of elevated basics.
Would love to hear your thoughts on this outfit and if you pull the trigger on the green trend while it’s in stock!
Hi Courtney ,
I’m a first time visitor to “The Grey Edit” and I must say I am so impressed . I love the theme for your blog, is it custom?

I love the unique color of this lovely coat. I however have a little bit of an issue with H&M , the idea of super cheap disposable
clothing really goes against my values. Thanks for a great post and blog .
