It’s cooling down here in Seattle as summer comes to an end, so I’ve been reevaluating my wardrobe for the new season, pulling together elevated basics that can be mixed and matched for this transitional weather. A quality black blazer is a closet essential in my opinion as it can be dressed up or down, act as a great layer to any outfit and be worn across multiple seasons. Today I’m paying tribute to a favorite — the J. Crew Regent Blazer.

J. Crew Regent Blazer
Finding the perfect blazer, to me, has always been pretty difficult. The options are either not long enough, not fitted enough or the right, quality material. Which is why I’m so in love with the J. Crew Regent Blazer — it checks all the boxes…
the length is great and hits low on my toosh
iIt’s tailored and offers the best silhouette
the collar, it’s not too wide, not too tiny and is structured enough so you can pop
the lining offers a hint of edge with its pinstripe flair
there are pockets, a single button — just ideal, but minimal touches
it’s made of wool flannel (quality) with a bit of stretch
it comes in all the classic colors you could ever want — black, navy, grey or camel.
The price sits at over $200, so it’s a slight investment — however, there are often sales (like now you can get 30% off). Not to mention, you will wear this often. Price per wear people. Consider this with all of your purchases. This is why we prioritize pulsing 80% elevated basics into our wardrobe — we can get soo much versatility and longevity out of these pieces.

End of Summer Look
Dust off those booties, but don’t pack up your denim shorts yet, ladies. Layer with a button-down shirt and integrate them both:
