Looking back at all of the Spring 2019 trends spotted on the runway this last Fall, there’s a recurring theme of pretty pops of sheer.
Confectionary slip dresses from Marc Jacobs… animal printed separates from Burberry… romantic flutter from Alexander McQueen… posh head-to-toe translucence from Prada… and more.
Dressing sexy for the streets can be done in a variety of tasteful ways using sheer fabrics like tulle, chiffon, lace and organza. You can style a sheer blouse over an undergarment or tank, a sheer long dress over a tee and jeans or a sheer skirt over an underlying slip.
This month, we decided to share with you three unique ways to style your delicate sheers during the winter months that can be translated into spring and even after. Pre-shows like Dior are already hinting that this trend will stay throughout fall.
So here’s what we came up with to inspire you in the months to come…
When we decided on the sheer trend story, I was so excited to pull options from a new favorite brand I discovered through Nordstrom — Endless Rose.
This LA label creates modern, ladylike pieces inspired by the runways, street style, and West Coast culture. The collections include on-trend pieces with feminine details like lace, ruffles, and embroidery.
I decided to base my look off of this metallic dot mesh top that is playful, sassy and sparkly all at the same time. Given it’s see-through nature, I paired the top over a black strapless bra which complements the black dots on the blouse.
To match with the peach and black tones, I found these wide leg trousers that offered a contrast black stitching — on super sale for under $40! Accenting with black accessories included my favorite sexy black pumps and these cat eye sunnies.
For added romance, I threw on a rose colored long-length coat and my brand new pale pink crossbody from the Aussie leather accessory brand The Daily Edited — topped with a pair of heart-shaped earrings.

Elisa shared three different outfits prior to our shoot and then upon arrival she tweaked the new outfit that she was wearing into something different. That’s what I love about her — she’s inspired in the moment and isn’t afraid to try new things. The black shirtdress over black tights and sandals was too dark for her so she added brightness with a tulle slip skirt and a beautiful ruby velvet blazer. Paired with the most posh accessories of course — her outfit was complete after many versions for one stunning runway look.

Mary wanted to showcase how to wear a sexy sheer slip dress over an everyday, casual outfit. The overlay she found was perfect — and one I truly need to add to my collection. Paired over a black mockneck top tucked into a great washed denim — the look transformed into effortless street style. I am obsessed with her black western boots made for strutting! The stone colored moto jacket softens the look and pulls from the gold foil stars. Talk about sheer cool.

This month’s trend was my favorite thus far. We were each challenged to think outside of the box and come up with a sexy, yet tasteful look that inspires for the seasons ahead.
The three of us had a blast as usual. Major thanks to the Palihotel Seattle for lending us their gorgeous exteriors for this shoot — and of course our amazing photographer for capturing us in the elements. Part II featuring more of their interiors and a special little brunch we hosted this same day coming next week!

LOVE your cute solo shots! And you hit the nail on the head – you CAN dress sexy in a tasteful way!
Thanks M! I’m so inspired to rock this trend over the next few months — and probably am going to have to borrow your slip dress at some point, because it’s the best! 🙂
