October is here. We’re in a new season which means a new reason for seeing things differently and allowing that to translate to our style. This month’s Stylelogue issue is focused on just that. Different angles, different hemlines, different cuts. The Seattle blogging trio brings you Asymmetric Views.

Fashion should be fun — and you can’t get much more fun than slashed clothing. The asymmetrical trend has shown up in various ways this season : hemlines, necklines and details all around. It gives off a distressed vibe of “I just threw it on”. It also offers so much sass.
I love how we kept this idea open between the three of us — which resulted in various ways to show how to rock asymmetric — across tops, dresses, skirts and jackets. One thing’s for sure — this fall, the more unique you can be with your layering, the better. And this trend is for sure the way to do it.
When we decided on this trend, I envisioned a dress with asymmetrical detail via layers. Low and behold one quick trip to Nordstrom and this printed stunner was calling my name. It’s a subtle animal print in my favorite black and white palette and is the most flattering fit. It’s also, very cost-effective at only $75!
To add to the layering and prep this look for the cool weather, I added one of my favorite leather jackets that I actually purchased about two years ago now. It offers an asymmetrical opening and provides the perfect punch of edge to the dress.
To break up my monochromatic look, I threw in my tan-colored suede calf-length boots. I love how they pop with the slit in the dress.
A small, structured styled bag is the statement bag of the season. And for a more on-trend look, I knew a mini bag was essential. I found this one for a low $29 but truly feel investing in a better quality bag would be more worth your while.
Lastly, sunglasses — because the sun is still shining, people! I chose my trendy cat-eyes for my individual shots and then to help a sister out, I swapped for my everyday matte pair. Overall showcasing a fall weekend look perfect for urban dwelling and brunching.

Elisa mentioned she was going for a ‘date night’ look and she pulled it off with style, grace and the perfect amount of sexy! The asymmetrical trend is shown in her blouse and skirt. The blouse — crisp and full of drama, and the leather skirt — sassy zipper detail. Her red-bottomed lace booties paired with transparent tights bring a real ‘ready for romance’ vibe. And her beaded headband and satin clutch make the whole look extra — as materials range from poplin, leather, lace, beads and satin. Swoon.

Mary shared with us an image that inspired her to compile her look from my all-time favorite blogger — also Mary, of Happily Grey. The look had this unique color palette of a subdued pink, marigold, and deep beige. The asymmetric details lie in her top — which transitions to a tunic length on one side. Then to keep things interesting, she cinched her trousers in the ties from her sandals, offering a meant for strutting, very on-trend pant. I love her small crossbody with a pouf accessory — completing the color palette.
