This last week, I had the opportunity to have a “Mom’s Night & Day Off” as a downtown “staycation” in partnership with the local luxury property, Hotel 1000 Seattle. At 36 weeks pregnant, this couldn’t have been more of a treat. Not only did we just wrap up the holidays, but I was also sick for a month straight before, Bo was just at home for two weeks for winter break and our remodel was at the drywall installation phase with a whole lot of noise and dust particles in our downstairs apartment. And oh, did I mention I was nine months pregnant?
So indeed a treat this all was. I was officially on maternity leave, putting the final touches on my last client gallery. I got buy-in from the husband, giving me a good 30-hour chunk of time off from my mom and wife duties. I had a weekender bag packed, a prenatal massage lined up at the spa, an appetite and plenty of time to do whatever the hell else I wanted. When I said my goodbyes and got in my car to head 15 min to downtown, I no joke had tears of joy in my eyes.
I mean it when I say it ladies… self care is not selfish. I try to remind myself of this even more so now as a mom. Because it’s true what they say, you can’t pour from an empty cup.

So let’s talk about Hotel 1000, shall we?! This luxury property is part of the LXR/Hilton Hotel Group. I’ve been in the past to their lobby and previous restaurant for happy hour, but never had the opportunity to stay or experience what the hotel had to offer. And from what I’d been seeing shared lately about their in-room signature pedestal bathubs, I knew it was going to be the perfect fit for my mom’s night and day away needs.
The location is wonderful — in the heart of downtown with views of the Puget Sound, sitting right on 1st Ave, just blocks from Pike Place Market, the waterfront and retail. If you’re visiting Seattle for business or pleasure, I definitely recommend this conveniently placed hotel. You can easily walk to the Seattle Center (where you’ll find the Space Needle and museums), the stadiums and all the buildings within our Business District. And if you like playing tourist in your own city as I like to do, it’s the perfect option ;).
The rooms are stylish and chic — with modern touches of velvet, stone and great lighting. The views are incredible — from the sound, waterfront and historic buildings of downtown. And their bathrooms — glass shower, privacy toilet and the free-standing tub… which I’ll get to in a minute. I loved the Le Labo product selection, cozy terry cloth robes, mini bar and LED-lit floor-length mirror! And oh, Hotel 1000 is pet-friendly, so you can even bring your furry friend! Next time, Smalls ;).
Okay, I died over this tub — which is available across all rooms, not just suites. The water is poured from the ceiling and you have an option of a view or privacy shade. There are various bath experiences you can choose from to go along with your stay. I had the “Destress Mind Bath” option which was wonderful and included an eye mask, candle, bath soak, tea and CBD potions for the ultimate relaxation.
Hotel 1000 offers a ton of amenities too while you’re at the property. Their 24 hour gym was perfection. I had only had one other gym sesh during this entire pregnancy so it was so nice to experience. Ellipticals, treadmills, bikes (including a Peloton) and plenty of strength training options.
And their spa! Ahhh this was the best surprise of them all. A full-service experience starting off with a foot soak, an aromatherapy game where you get to choose the scents used in your treatment, a massage (among other options like facials, wraps & scrubs), and then a relaxation lounge sipping tea and enjoying the dry sauna. The spa manager, Spring, was so kind and knowledgeable. Her and Amber, my masseuse, made the visit that much more enjoyable. Loved the product selection in their shop too.
In addition to the above, they have a golf simulator (Trev was jelly), stylish meeting spaces and you can even reserve a Tesla to take you around town!
Last, but certainly not least were the food and drink options. When I arrived to my room, there was plenty of bubbly (Pellegrino) for me to enjoy along with a beautiful welcome platter of fruit. I took myself out to dinner to their on-location restaurant, All Water Seafood & Oyster Bar, which was delishhh. I had my one glass of wine — and was so excited to see Sancerre, my favorite white, on the menu. Ordered a season salad to start with spring greens, fruit and Marcona almonds and a seasonal pasta to accompany — with truffle and romesco. I decided to have dessert sent up to my room which was the most delicious warm brownie topped with small batch of vanilla ice cream. SO satisfied. They also have a lounge being remodeled at the moment, where you can enjoy an incredible selection of wine, beer and cocktails.
My 30 hours at Hotel 1000 were honestly the best. I arrived excited and left feeling so refreshed and rejuvenated. The perfect way to kick off the new year and welcome baby boy number two into the world any week now.
Sharing my itinerary below in case you’d like to mirror for your upcoming staycation. Also linking a recent Redfin blog post I was mentioned in with one of my favorite things to do in Seattle — have a downtown date :).

Thank you so, so much Hotel 1000 for gifting me this experience. I can’t wait to return in the future for another staycation — solo for another mom’s night & day off and with Trevor for a couples escape!
Add Hotel 1000 to your list of places to visit and book for your downtown Seattle staycation.
