Plaid. The pattern that seemed to have its peak in the 70s and 80s is back — and it’s here to stay.
But how does one rock this revived pattern in 2018?
Let me show you the ways…
I have a pretty serious relationship with blazers — I think they’re a staple every woman should have for her 9 to 5 gig, for her post 5 play and the trouble she gets into on the weekends.
By now you’ve likely got your “go-to” black blazer in the perfect length that you go to for all of your blazer needs, but why not add some fun into the mix? And no, I’m not talking navy.
I have been on the hunt for the perfect “plaid blazer” aka “checked blazer” aka “80s oversized plaid blazer” ever since this new staple stole the streets during NYFW.
As fate would sometimes have it, I stumbled into Zara for the umpteenth time on the hunt and was able to find the one I’m wearing hollering at me from an almost empty rack. Zara’s good like that if you’re quick.
Of course by now the style has come and gone, but I’ve been able to round up some similar options for you (including this Zara gem) below ranging in quality and cost.
In addition to knowing I like basics, you prob know I’m also a fan of monochrome. Though you don’t have to follow those color guidelines, I’d suggest pairing your plaid blazer over other options of basics like the following combos:
How will you wear yours?
