So it seems I’ve fallen behind the regular posting cadence I was getting pretty good at.
<insert fluffy excuse that probably has to do with being busy here>
Well the streak is over. Fall is breezing by and though it may be cold and rainy here at home, it’s the season that I personally think makes for the best fashion. Which leads me to my topic of the day…
“It” Colors For This Fall
Ever wonder how colors make their way in and out of fashion? Three words: Pantone Color Institute. Every season this trend forecasting / color consultancy publishes a color report for the fashion industry. The report features the top colors we can expect to see from designers on the runway for the upcoming Spring / Fall collections. Pretty cool right?
Earlier this year when institute released its Fall 2017 Color Report, there were two colors that stood out to me the most that were predicted for London’s Fashion Week — Flame Scarlet & Lemon Curry:
Both colors pack a punch and have definitely made their way into runways and our Pinterest boards. The vivid red has been leading the way this season — powerful to the core. The subdued yellow feels very fitting for an autumn color palette — striking and spicy.
So if you’re looking for ways to introduce color into your Fall wardrobe, I recommend you follow this report for Fall.
Since color is minimal in my wardrobe, I like to introduce seasonal colors through statement pieces that can be added to any outfit like an accessory. This way, I can maximize the wear of the item.
Idea #1 : Statement Earrings
Idea #2 : Statement Bag
Idea #3 : Statement Booties
Idea #4 : Statement Jacket
Obv — my fave, and obv leaning towards lemon curry for this one 😉
Thank you Karin! This is an outfit that over a year ago I probably wouldn’t have put together, but it’s been fun to play around with what’s out right now :). Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Sad about our Cougs — but let’s be honest, we have more fun anyways… ;).

Great shots Courtney! Love that jacket and the purse!
The use of that curry color, with the wood accent in that purse, and those boots….perfect!
