Hi 2018. You came real fast.

As I go about my first few days in the new year, I can’t help but reflect on 2017 and the great year it was.

I met personal goals — from fitness to work to finance, did a lot of adventuring — across the country and oversees — and evolved The Grey Edit into a brand that truly feels like my own.

Sharing a little highlight reel of the year with you all by month —

 

JANUARY

Decided to up my blogging game and connected with various professional photographers who helped my find my aesthetic and create the look I have now. Shout out to Nick Zamudio, Jenna Lynn & Karya Schanilec — you guys are awesome. And oh — landed a job at my dream company, Nordstrom!

 

FEBRUARY

Did a half marathon… which ended up being a TRAIL run. Which ended up being a hike that was a run… aka the hardest mother effing run of my life! But hey, knocked that one off the list!

 

MARCH

Made three trips to Chicago — this being our second where we celebrated St. Patty’s Day with friends and family in the city. Man I miss that place (my hometown).

 

APRIL

Attended my first Blogger Event — Gossip & Glamour’s Style Summit in Seattle. Such an incredible experience to be surrounded in a room of like-minded, motivated and local hustlers.

 

MAY

Two days spent in Lisbon, where I wrote about this travel outfit. Another two in the most beautiful island of Spain, Menorca where I wore the above suit on a private beach with Trevor all afternoon and this yellow dress for dinner. Ending with three nights in Barcelona — where I rocked this fun white number and this floral dress for an amazing last date night out.

 

JUNE

Summer in Seattle meant as much boating as we could get in… along with a big start to home improvements (and developing my love for indoor plants). We updated our dining room, living room, bedroom, hallways, basement and finally an official exterior remodel with a new roof, deck and fence. So much sweat, tears, money and learnings — but all for one very lovely outcome. #adulting

 

JULY

Our annual 4th of July trip with Trevor’s Family and their amazing boat to the cutest island town in the San Juan Islands — Roche Harbor. Check it out if you haven’t heard of it. I took my first seaplane ride on the way home — just a 45 minute trip back to Seattle.

 

AUGUST

When we flew into Las Vegas, rented a car, and drove from Nevada to the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon, where along the way I fell in love with Joshua Trees in Grapevine Mesa National Park and did this desert photoshoot.

 

SEPTEMBER

And then extended our Southwest vacation to Utah — staying in St. George and hiking both Zion & Bryce Canyon National Park. Plus a tacked on San Francisco trip near the end!

 

OCTOBER

New York City for my 32nd and a weekend away with friends. I could go to this city every month if I had the chance. So energizing — the perfect choice for a birthday getaway!

 

NOVEMBER

My first time to Cabo San Lucas — and definitely not my last. This beach vacation was soo needed during the gloomy start to winter in Seattle. Read about the trip here.

 

DECEMBER

A staycation for the books. You can read up on all the details here, but was a great way to close out the year with family. And one damn good Holiday Party hosted by yours truly.
