It’s official — less than one week left ’til Christmas. We are all sorts of excited over here. Today I wanted to share how I went about decking the halls and what we have planned for our very first Christmas with baby.

Modern Minimal Holiday Decor

Since we were lucky enough to enjoy a winter vacation away to Mexico at the start of the month, we came into the holiday season a bit delayed. Stress aside, I decided to assess the clutter we’ve collected over the years for holiday decorating, donate those that no longer brought me joy and add a few fresh modern pieces.

I turned to my favorite retailers Target, CB2 and Crate + Barrel for inspo and fresh design. Below you’ll find what I chose to integrate into our mantle and tree.

MANTLE PIECES

Eucalyptus greenery, touches of mixed metal, golden burlap stockings and the cutest winter characters.

TREE TRIMMINGS

Continuing the mixed metals and adding a touch of modern via the shearling + leather tree skirt. The best-added flair? Our beloved disco ball ornaments we’ve had since the first year Trevor and I met.

Boden’s First Christmas

On December 23rd Bo will be 5 months old — and I can’t help but admit each moment keeps getting better and better just as they say. He is oh so fun to be around these days and I’m soaking in every moment I have with him.

Now that our home is feeling festive and cozy, we’ve been focusing on fun happenings and starting new traditions for our new family of four. Today we’re taking Bo to get pics with Santa. Tonight we’re having my side of siblings and their significant others over for a Thanksmas celebration. Next week we’ll head up to Trev’s parents’ home for a staycation where we’ll have couple cookoffs, white elephant and lots of Bo spoiling. Then for New Years we’re headed to Chicago to visit extended family and ring in the new year with friends.
