Spring is right around the corner, and it’s the perfect time to part ways with things that are no longer serving us and make room for new things that can. An area that’s been a major focus of mine has been evaluating products I use on the regular — and ever since Follain came into the picture, it’s been easier than ever to identify what clean products across skincare and beauty to add to my routine. A Little Refresh on Follain

If you’re not yet familiar with Follain, here’s a little refresh. The brand was started by a woman named Tara Foley who, after going on a bit of a personal wellness journey in health and fitness, started to question the products she was putting on her body. She dedicated years to learning the ins and outs of the beauty industry, working to identify what ultimately led products to be safe. What started as a blog to house her findings evolved into the online retailer we know today — Follain, which is a Gaelic word meaning ‘all that is wholesome, healthy and natural.

Since its founding in 2013, Follain has been focused on creating more transparency in the beauty industry, providing people access to brands that create products that are in fact clean, and not just marketed as so. They are constantly testing, working alongside experts and staying at the forefront of research to ensure every product under the Follain umbrella is beyond clean using a five-step approval process ensuring the following criteria:

In addition, many products on their site are Vegan (marked with the “V” symbol) and EWG Verified, meeting the Environmental Working Group’s strict expectations across ingredients, disclosure and manufacturing practices. They’ve also developed their own skincare line formulated with the best of the best in green chemistry.
