A note on holiday shopping —

Today kicks off the busiest shopping weekend of the year with Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Though it can be a time to save, it can also be a time of intense marketing efforts that trigger an emotional need and desire to spend. Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve always been about a deal, but years of overspending have taught me to be more conscious of every purchase. So I encourage you to take a minute before pulling the trigger on things this year — ask yourself: is this something I’ve/they’ve wanted for a long time? will it add value to my/their wardrobe or home? can I/they get good use out of it and will it bring joy?
