Dearest Travel Babes: Do you struggle with packing for an upcoming trip like I do? Do you plan your outfits according to location and activity? Do you write out a schedule so you can avoid the dreadful under-pack / over-pack? Yet in the end, still manage to take a good week or two to plan and come out wishing you had tweaked your lineup a little?
Well, I wish I had a magic solution to tell you, but in all honesty I think practice makes perfect. And yes, planning is key.
Though I’m still trying to figure this out, I have come across the perfect go-to outfit that’s cute, functional and made for adventuring — all at the same time.
Your Go-To Travel Outfit
I put this recent combo together for our second day of exploring Lisbon. For those of you who may have missed it, check out my post on How to do Lisbon in 48 Hours here.
It consists of a series of basics, with their own style and twist.
Easy to pack, easy to throw on before a day of wandering in a new place, perfect for that upcoming summer trip you have planned.
It’s photographic, as its elements are timeless.
It’s really nothing special, and you likely already have the pieces.
Shop the Casual Look
It suits you, and it suits that upcoming trip. If you don’t have these key basic pieces, here are my picks by category below.
#ProTip : invest in your basics. Quality > Quantity (including going for the cheapest of the bunch). You may come across the softest, perfect cotton striped tee that might be a bit above your normal “tee-buying” price range. Remember the lifetime value you’ll get out of it. You can pair that baby with just about anything…
WHITE CUTOFF DENIM
And for those who want to see more of the ever so vibrant and easy Lisboa…
